It probably will not end until after the election. I can't see him ending it right before the election. It would become too political. The republicans and fox news would go nuts. He would be wise to wait until the election is over if he can't end it early this year.

Some people with really impressive creds say it could take another year because as more and more keeps being revealed, more and more questions that require answers are created.
Agree that in any case it will not finish close to the election for the reason Shockey stated. Only unprincipled scum would do that, and the scum's attempts to get him out show clearly their belief that he is principled.

(58,785 posts)That's my problem with all these tweeters like him, though. Even if we can't find a definitive rule-out (it'd take something like spending the past 30 years in a mental hospital, right?), his rule-in is a big "and?"
We know a couple people who worked in intelligence, one stationed in Europe for decades, one in military intelligence but beyond living many places doing what we don't know, but neither claims the friends they stay in contact with know anything about any of this.

(4,379 posts)Turn up the pressure on Trump. He will make more mistakes. If Trump fires Mueller that would be the end of Trump. I don't think Trump would do that but you never know because he is so weak minded.

(6,070 posts)At some point, Muller has enough stuff to write a report that shows beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump conspired with the Russians to steal the 2016 election. Then, it's time to roll. It's not going to make the final outcome any surer if Mueller gains access to, say, a complete history of the tire pressure in Trump's golf carts.
Indict or get off the pot.

Mueller is going to nail his ass. The waiting is killing me. I am so tired of this complete freak show.

(1,681 posts)There is no way trials of those who have been, or will be, indicted can be finished by the spring or early summer.....even those already indicted.
Now, if you are referring to massive indictments having been handed down by then, I agree that they would have to have been made public by early to mid summer at the latest. After that time, Mueller would have to wait until after the election. It is Department of Justice policy that indictments and other public acts revolving around investigations that might affect elections should not occur within 90 days of those elections. That means that the deadline is approximately the first week of August.
I believe that many serious indictments will have been handed down by then, with others that will not have been finalized by that point, to come later. The investigation has been going on a good while, and let's not forget that Comey's firing did not cause an appreciable delay, since all of his group of investigators remained and continued their work unabated. I think that they are further along in their efforts than many believe. I think the obvious stupidity of the Trump conspirators, including Trump, has helped to speed things along. They are making it easy on Mueller.
I'm guessing that you and most others who make this broad point are actually referring to most of the major indictments, along with most of the investigatory findings, being made public by then.
