I think the Obama campaign has been preparing for Romney, and they're letting these GOP gasbags talk and talk and talk.

After all the crap the GOP has pulled during this administration, the Obama campaign will unleash on Romney once he finally emerges.

The response to Li'l Mittens snark about the birth certificate the other day was a lighthearted taste of what his daddy will get.

Romney is going to face the pressure of facts about his past and self centered behavior as a business person. Romney is responsible for destroying many people's lives and livelihoods. He must answer for that. I saw one women in Iowa say that she would vote for Romney because she wants to protect her job. How absolutely decieved that woman is.

Romney's major platform item will get shredded to bits by facts. I wouldn't be surprised to see President Obama win by a ladnslide and peel off several southern and interior west states during that process. Romney's big issue is jobs, the man is a certified job destroyer. Massachusetts was second to last in job creation during Romney's administration, that WAS during a period of mortage mania fueled growth. The democratic governot, Patrick has Massachusetts as the 1st or 2nd state in job growth, with the new jobs being high paying jobs.

There were around ten others that he destroyed, taking thousands of middle class jobs. Romney lined his pockets with every failure. While govenor of Massachusetts, Romney led the state to the second worst job growth record in the country. Imagine a proud state like Massachusetts being in the company of a Mississippi?

If it was a fair fight, Obama would take it in a landslide. BUT, we've had three years of endless smears which are just going to get worse (aided and abetted by the media, of course) and you always have to remember that Bush was inaugurated despite having provably lost in 2000 (I'm unclear about 2004).

In other words, beware the dirty tricks department.

Romney won't have a platform from which to fight. Only the ignorant and hateful will stay with him once facts about his record on american job growth is known.

Between the millions who have or are in the process of being disenfranchised and voting on the same, non-verifiable, easily rigged machines, and the amount of Dems who became disapointed and or so sick of it all that they are just not that interested, it's going to be a tough battle and a tight race. So President Obama and all of the Dems running need to win but a lot more to overcome those odds. I'm not thinking it's impossible- just won't be easy. Even against Romney.

I work with a handful of hard core Teaheads and it is bash Obama all the time, they really don't like Romney but they will stomach him in order to defeat Obama, their strategy it seems is to solicit Condi Rice for the aforementioned reasons, they also truly believe that Obama will dump Biden and pick up Hillary as VP.

He was so unpopular in Massachusetts that he opted out rather than lose the 2006 election. I remember being disappointed he didn't stick around. He won on a fluke in 2002, anyway. If he tries to run on his gubernatorial record, he's toast.

Sun Jan 1, 2012, 10:58 PM
Jan 2012

is that the nation is not going to be focused on Romneys record, our side will be wise to promote it but its not a reality to the masses.

The real issue is will Obama be able to run on his record. I really don't think that "IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE" is a great campaign. Obama has done some positive things but only viewed from the left side of the political aisle and many on the left think he didn't go far enough.

The real test is how does Obama translate his accomplishments to lure moderates and Indpendents back to the fold and what will his uniting agenda be for the next four years.

I mean I remember Bush in 04 he ran on that Ownership society crap, now everyone new that it wasn't going to happen but he did put it out there as an agenda of change, something new and different and he won so presumably, enough people were fooled by it.

he did to his family's dog:

The incident: dog excrement found on the roof and windows of the Romney station wagon. How it got there: Romney strapped a dog carrier — with the family dog Seamus, an Irish Setter, in it — to the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour drive from Boston to Ontario, which the family apparently completed, despite Seamus's rather visceral protest.

I want this story front and center from the moment Romney is nominated through the General Election.

Vote for Romney if you approve of cruelty to animals. How's that for framing an issue?
