gunning for more protection for workers and the like. Because you can put anything you want in a trade agreement, not just pure capitalist things. Seems the GOP has made a big booboo allowing Trump to take the right wing off the stage in negotiating trade agreements. The world is moving on without them. And agreements will reflect more of a worker bent.

The world is indeed moving on -- without America. Fools.

If I sound bitter, it's because I am.

Blame all those folks who had no confidence on Obama, particularly Sanders and Warren who railed against it.

Paul Krugman pointed out TPP was trivial economically, almost rounding error in our giant economy. It’s real importance is forming a political and cultural bond among ourselves and neighbors of China, steering them toward our world and values and away from China. Obama felt our domestic opposition to TPP was misguided. Trump killing TPP in the US was a huge gift to China.

We lost out. We couldn't know the details, because we were afraid that China or other countries would cut a better deal. Now we are just giving it away, with China being the first to step in.
