All those elected officials you dislike? They are reflective of the people who voted for them

There are several hundred thousand Ron Pauls in his district.

There are a million or so Jeff Sessions in Alabama.

How many Michele Bachmanns are needed to elect a Michelle Bachmann?

Can you imagine what it must be like with all those Patrick McHenry's down there is East Carolina?

How mean must be the spirit among of the majority in Eric Cantor's district?

As bad as he is, Ben Nelson will be the last Democrat from Nebraska for a while. At least he doesn't live, devoid of human contact, in a cave like another Nebraskan.

Comforting, huh?

It would work like this ... you come to me and say you want to take a vacation in a "nice place" ...

So I ask you some questions about your political positions, and then I run your answers through a program that compares your responses with the voting records of members of the House and the Senate ...

And from that, I get a list of locations where the people are "like you". Maybe you are a homophobe from rural PA, who thinks all illegal aliens need to be shipped back to mexico tomorrow ... so I might recommend a vacation in Michele Bachmann's district. Perhaps a tour of their "clinic" could be on the agenda.

I think Twain said something like that.

And as a denizen of Michelle Bachmanns district, I can attest that their are tons of evil uncaring fucks here.

devoid of human contact, in a cave

Howard Dean's 50 state strategy made a difference in Nebraska. The effort was abandoned too soon. The party has written much of our country off as a loss, and so it is.

Politicians are people, with their own histories, agendas, and life experiences. Not coincidentally, so is each and every voter.

Many things motivate a person's vote. Being a doppelganger of the person they cast a vote for usually isn't it.

It certainly hasn't been the case for me. Are you one of tens of millions of Barack Obamas? I know I'm not. Just because we vote for somebody doesn't mean we 'are' them. It just means we voted for them.

What you really seem to be saying here is that you don't like/understand why people vote Republican, not that there's several hundred people just like so and so in every district.
