This was not widely covered but reported last year:
http://wallstreetonparade.com/2017/06/russian-bank-chairman-met-with-kushner-citigroup-and-jpmorgan-chase/
According to the article, ALSO in the meeting with Citigroup and Kushner was the Russian Banker, Sergey Gorkov of VEB (Vnesheconombank).
The Times reporters are quick to note that the meetings with the U.S. banks are not outlawed by the sanctions but then the paper of record climbs out on a very shaky limb, writing: Citi and JPMorgan had long, established relationships clearing financial transactions for VEB in the United States, activities not affected by the sanctions.
According to our read of the exact language of the sanctions, any transactions between U.S. banks and VEB may well be unlawful or, at the very least, frowned upon by the U.S. government. The sanctions, imposed on July 16, 2014, read as follows:
So wonder why Trump hasn't enforced those sanctions? Could it be because Kushner took 100's of millions in loans from these people in order to continue processing transactions from VEB?

(23,018 posts)The original story from last year was reported in the NYT. The lingering question tonight is what was the quid-pro-quo on the loans... I believe this is it.

The testimony from witnesses, etc is key in the collusion and obstruction cases of the investigation so between documents and witness testimony people are going to go to prison. I just hope they all get caught in the net and this includes Nunes, Ryan, McConnell, Pence, and Rohrabacher.

(9,865 posts)Just like the banksters did in 2008.
I have little faith any more in our justice system or financial regulation system or congressional system.
I think we have become a true Oligarchy. Yes, we have to keep fightingbut I don't expect much justice to come from the top down.
