Barely gets a mention on both CNN & MSNBC. Can't really blame them, it's just a typical day ending in "Y" in Amerika.

(26,256 posts)Still just one affiliate covering the story. And it's not even the affiliate based in the tri-city area!

(40,416 posts)Although like local programming here in rural west Michigan might lead me to suspect that this might very well be the shooting incident at Central Michigan University.
From local coverage, this is apparently a domestic issue, and perpetrated by a black.
No comment there.

(4,407 posts)A lot of them get almost no coverage because they occur in inner cities and minority neighborhoods. They have reported that in 2016, an average of one minor was shot every 17 hours in Miami-Dade County, just south of Parkland.
I am not saying this to you personally, but to everybody: where is the outrage when it is not a middle class or higher person that dies? I agree we are desensitized, but if we are going to talk about desensitization, I think it is also important to to remind everybody of that.
And don't get me wrong, I am deeply touched by the Parkland shooting, including personally knowing one of the victims who was shot. It just bothers me that we only seem to really care about guns as a country when the white people are dying.

(3,194 posts)I would think the mere fact it's a University would encourage them to cover this.
I realize it's not the same as 17 Dead, but it is essentially still kids, in the same age group, so coming on the heels of Parkland, I can't believe they are totally ignoring coverage.

(4,742 posts)MSNBC, NBC, CNN, Fox News, NPR, CBS News, ABC News all have as a headline story or top of their web pages. Also has been the top of the hour radio news for CBS and Fox for the past few hours.
Not sure what else you are looking for regarding coverage?
