Labor's duty to confront the far right

From the article:

ONE OF the most disturbing features of the growth of the far right, including outright fascist and Nazi parties, during the last three decades has been its appeal to working-class voters, especially in the older, industrial heartland regions. Pick a country across Europe, and the story is virtually the same.
Ravaged by deindustrialization, accompanied by decades of declining living standards, significant layers of industrial workers and their communities have turned away from traditional social democratic or Communist parties toward parties of the far right. In many cases, the parties of the far right have recast themselves as "working class" parties

To be a progressive and to a slightly less extent, a mainstream democrat, in our local mills means you are a minority. It was not that way ten years ago.

Its a different world here now.

But even here, there are more than a few Trump supporters. And to see GOP support in any union shows that those union voters have no idea of what the GOP really stands for. The GOP is ferociously anti-worker.

from their puppet masters and Fux Ruse propaganda. They do not read history, research the economic trends of the past 30 years, etc. They have chosen blind ignorance. If they whine and complain it is their own fault. My father and grandfather and I were in unions but we read the newspapers, studied US economic trends and the how the global economic trends change over the years . You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand simple economic concepts and how the US and world changes. "Liberal elite" my ass. Pick up a decent newspaper and study it once in a while.

And the corporate mass media shares much of the blame.
