When the Parkland shooting happened

I remember listening to a horribly painful interview with twins that were involved in the shooting.
As a parent, I was crying at their pain and I was thinking "Oh God PLEASE take the camera off of those children" and felt that the media was using these kids for their own gain.
But.
These kids figured that out and now use the media for THEIR gain.
They knew that the media would want the tears and mourning.....and used it to further the cause.
I'm so proud of these kids.
I think that they WILL bring meaningful change to this country.
That is their legacy and I am proud to be able to watch them do it.

like after Sandy Hook. For reasonable, caring, normal people, that was the absolute last straw. Instead of showing concern for the slaughtered, rethugs did nothing. It was then that I realized that they never would.

Yes, I love that these teens are media savvy. Now, when rethugs try their tired old "don't talk about it out of respect for the victims" crap, they can respond with "we ARE the victims! And we're not going to shut up for your comfort!"
