I Sadly Predict that following the Parkland Massacre, Our Congress will do Absolutely Nothing.

McConnell will not bring up any bill concerning guns.

Ryan will do nothing that goes against the nra.

Trump already got the word from the nra.

We're right back where we started and it will happen again and again and again...

I do so hope i'm wrong.

Then, we'll wait for another horrific shooting, and they'll do the same thing again. That's what they do.

The answer? Retake control of Congress, starting in November, 2018. That is the only possible solution. How long will that take us to learn?

GOTV Always!

Re-taking Congress will be our best hope. Sad, but true. The GOP is too afraid to stand up to the NRA. (and the Congress critters that have their hands out for NRA funding) My senator, Portman, is one of the worst in that regard. He gets an A+ rating from that organization, too.

Take over majority control of both the House, and the Senate, and get these two paid for NRA and Russian hacks out of power. Voters see what they're doing, and what they refuse to do now, again. Its backfiring on them this time.

Just in time to impact 2018 midterms.

Instead, the “Fix NICS Act of 2017,” which has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association, would reinforce the requirement that federal agencies report all infractions to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, and creates a financial incentive for states to do so as well.

Connecticut is one of 13 states that use their own screening system, then reports the information they obtain to NICS.

Congress has no authority to compel states to report all information NICS collects. The Murphy-Cornyn bill would offer new financial incentives, as well as favorable access to other federal assistance programs, to states that report infractions to the system.

The bill has a “stick” as well as “carrots.” It would withhold bonuses and overtime pay from political appointees who head agencies that aren’t fully compliant in their reporting of information to NICS.
