Nunberg defends Bannon: 'Steve got Trump's fat ass elected'

Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg defended former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, saying that the former Breitbart News chief was the one who got President Trump elected.

"Steve got Trump’s fat ass elected," Nunberg told the New Yorker in an interview. "Trump would’ve lost by 15 points had Steve not gotten involved in the campaign."

Bannon left his post as the executive chair of Breitbart in August 2016 to join the Trump campaign, and was eventually made Trump's White House chief strategist. He left that position last year.

Since then, however, he has had a falling out with Trump after he was quoted in a book by New York media writer Michael Wolff speaking critically of Trump and his family.
