Joy Reid: 'This is all you need today'

joyannreid on Instagram: This is all you need today. A little girl gets to meet the first lady who awed her in an iconic museum portrait that she believed was of a Queen. @michelleobama making the time and creating a moment that will stay with this little princess forever. Amazing.

I'm sure the present First Lady (or, more accurately, the Third Lady) could contort her facial features into a similar attitude of concern given sufficient lead time. Perhaps Melania's official portrait will recreate her pose on the wing of the aircraft pointing an Uzi, and some little girl somewhere will be as transfixed as young Parker was.

It could happen.

How un-Republican. How un-Trumpian. How non-right wing.

Thanks for posting this, bigtree. It’s beautiful.

I miss them both. Now THERE was class. Very classy people, the Obamas. A First Couple you could look up to. That was America's face to the world, and it made me feel proud.

On the other hand, this, now...

Oh, never mind.

...more Joy Reid during the week. I'd like to see them cut an hour off "Morning Joe" and start a "Morning Joy" show! I'm surprised CNN hasn't made an offer...MSNBC better get moving.

The Michelle Obama photo story is sweet - much better than the Stormy Daniels story. I'm sure Michelle let the little girl know she can grow up to be President, not just the wife of one.

Completely touching.

I remember watching on Oprah episode where Jennifer Hudson was on.
Jennifer told Oprah that they had met before. Oprah said she didn't remember and asked at what event? Jennifer Hudson replied that in First grade her class had a field trip that went the television station where Oprah worked. They got to ask questions and apparently Oprah was the weather person. She asked Oprah if ut was hard to become a weather person and Oprah gave some words of encouragement to her. Jennifer Hudson said that right then it gave her possibilities she never thought of before. Oprah remembered and said you were the little girl in the red coat, Jennifer said yes and they both had a very touching moment.

Moments like in this picture and the above are so important for our youth.

I miss Michelle, I miss the dignity that we had as nation for 8 years.

This photo captures all of it.
