How were we able to do that?
I cannot think of a worse person to be President than the moron that now sits in the White House.
How was that possible?

(1,443 posts)but, but, but...I thought it was the job of the electoral college to prevent deranged lunatics like Trump from getting into office? So much for that BS. The electoral college was put in place for the very purpose of usurping the will of the people, a tool of the rich and powerful who ultimately decide the elections.
In the words of Joseph Stalin, 'It's not the people whose votes that count. It's the people who count the votes.'
Which explains why Trump and Putin are best friends.

(58,785 posts)That suppurating wound in the oval office is a symptom of the cancer that's taken over the right, and his elevation against the will of the majority is the result of structural weaknesses in our nation that were exploited by enemies both foreign and domestic.

(14,565 posts)* Fearful bigoted older whites still a huge meaningful demographic
* Working class whites turned off by Obama (Affordable Care Act?) to the point they were desperate for a change
* Trump always successful in bullshit terms, owning an undeserved aura further boosted by the television hosting Apprentice role, which numb skulls view as presidential decision making
* Hillary with low upside as public figure for a quarter century
* Public generally preferring to change parties after 8 years from one side
* Obviously Russia
* Obviously Comey, who acted like a simpleton
Take away any one of them and Hillary probably wins narrowly. But it was always going to be tight, due to the most significant variable among that list -- Hillary's low upside. She is my favorite Democratic nominee of my lifetime but as a handicapper I always knew her absolute peak was 50% or perhaps 51% if everything went perfectly combined with an imploding opponent. Instead, she ended up in the more logical territory of 48%.
Hillary would have won handily in 2008, when we owned the situational edge. It was always a monumental blunder to run Obama first and Hillary second, if they had to be back to back. I emphasized that at the time. The person with the greater charisma and less baggage can prevail in any landscape. The one with more challenges needs to be perfectly placed.

(13,091 posts)The electoral college picked Trump.
Hillary got 3 million more votes then Trump.
Sarah Huckabee said that Americans overwhelmingly voted for Trump.
She said that at today's presser.
That is a LIE !!!!!!!!!

(5,811 posts)That's how we got Trump. Otherwise I'd have to believe the majority of white people are the expression of ultimate evil. I do not believe that.
