https://www.rawstory.com/2018/03/right-wingers-freak-hollywood-reporter-cover-celebrating-triumph-beta-male/?comments=disqusThe Hollywood Reporter this week published a cover story that celebrates the triumph of the beta maleprompting right wing ideologues to blame modern feminism for everything from virtue signaling on the Internet to a decrease in worldwide amphibian populations
In its cover story, HBOs Silicon Valley star Zach Woods championed the tender quality he sees in his fellow cast mates. Im among my tribe of, like, beta males, Woods told the Hollywood Reporter.
That story and the Hollywood Reporters cover photowhich features four of the stars of Silicon Valley with their hands in each others pocketsinfuriated right wingers like InfoWars Alex Jones.
Theyre saying if you act like a domesticated, twisted version of an effeminate creature, somehow youre going to end up in dominant positions in the corporate world, Jones fumed on a YouTube video posted to his conspiracy website InfoWars.
Jones went on to lament globalists like Jeff Bezos, as well as plastic, which he claims is causing a synthetic transformation that has been engineered over the males.

If liking women and not wanting to blow shit up makes me a beta male, then I guess I'm a beta male.

(63,221 posts)are the problem. We don't do that. It's something that insecure men do to reassure themselves of their masculinity. Men who are secure in their masculinity never give it a second thought.

(56,827 posts)that since an Alpha Male is supposedly a strong take-charge leader type, that a Beta Male is the opposite? Somebody that is weak and lets others take charge and submits to authority?

(63,221 posts)put men in boxes like that obviously has a problem with his own masculinity.

(56,827 posts)though I believe Alpha Male is more commonly used than Alpha Female with humans. I think the original term is derived from wolf packs where there is typically an "alpha" wolf that is the pack leader.
I don't really know if there is an actual "beta" term in sociology (or whatever field it is) - I think "beta male" and "cuck" are RW terms meant to describe weak men.

(63,221 posts)I rest my case. If there is such a thing as "Alpha" and "Beta" , he is "Zeta".
Interesting tidbit: "After high school, Jones briefly attended Austin Community College but dropped out."
He dropped out of a fucking community college!
No wonder he hates educated liberals!

(99,915 posts)Can you imagine that asshole as a college student? He would fail a test and claim that his teachers are using the deep state to conspire against him. Imagine him in a history class!

(56,827 posts)so, Alpha is the "top" and Omega would be the last. Beta, I believe, is second. Not sure why "beta" is used as synonymous with weak.

(11,949 posts)I figured out a long time ago the whole alpha male thing is nothing but an excuse for men to act like assholes. Especially where women are concerned.
