Fox & Friends Gets Awkward When Brian Kilmeade Corrects Steve Doocy’s Scandalous Clinton Foundation Claim

Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning covered a new report from The Hill that’s been making the rounds, focused on the Australian diplomat whose tip prompted the FBI’s Russia probe — and that diplomat’s allegedly nefarious ties to the Clinton Foundation.

This all happened years ago, when Downer was Australian Foreign Minister, and Australia was donating funds to the Clinton Foundation to help fight aids — a small fraction of the billions the country dedicates to development assistance every year.

Fox & Friends, however, saw scandal:

“As it turns out ladies and gentlemen,” co-host Steve Doocy said on Tuesday, “Mr. Papadopoulos who met Alexander Downer that night didn’t realize he was meeting a guy who donated $25 million to the Clinton Foundation to eradicate AIDS.”

Brian Kilmeade then stepped in to tepidly fact-check his co-host, asking “Was that Australian government money? I’m sure he didn’t have $25 million.”
