....Trump gets brought down in the end by an old fashioned sex scandal as opposed to the absolutely unprecedented and treasonous collusion with the Russian government to aid in his election.
Don't get me wrong. I'll gladly take it. I'll take anything that gets this horror show out of the White House.
But I really want it to be the Russia story that brings him down. It just seems to have been building up to that for years now, even decades.
It would be like a movie that is building it up for an exciting climax and at the last minute throws some different, random ending at you that came out of nowhere.

(5,518 posts)So that we can send the whole treasonous bunch of them into political exile never to be heard from again.
One of the problems we have is that we keep seeing the same names pop up time and time again. Since we never fully quash the bugs, they just crawl away and wait.

(31,106 posts)But yes, treason is the big one and he could not be more guilty of it.
Now for a sex scandal to take him down has to be more than just us patriots, democrats who are offended by it and consider it to be impeachable.
Some on his side in the Senate have to be also offended by it. Otherwise he skates on the sex, we know his deplorable base, all sixty million of them do not care if he has sex with women not his wife. Hell, they wouldnt care if he went on live TV and killed people.

(52,116 posts)honestly i don't care much about exactly what brings donnie down. so much to choose from anyway.
what i care about is whether or not the donnie debacle is dismissed as a one-off or if the entire republican party pays a huge, long-term price for inflicting this monster on us.

(21,506 posts)All indications seem to point to Mueller going deep. I doubt that would all be thrown aside just because trump was ousted.

(46,166 posts)She's been working at The Committee To Investigate Russia and daily keeps track of all the new news for the web site. There's not enough time in the day for her to do it all there's so many things happening.
So when she was on Cesca's show she commented that so many are doing work all over regarding the Russia matters. And wouldn't it be something if it was a sex scandal that drove him out of office.
That would be a shame because it wouldn't carry the same consequences as what Mueller is investigating.

(2,845 posts)That just makes it less likely that the Mueller investigation is going to get ratfucked. I don't think Pence has the balls to obstruct justice the way Trump does. He can still get popped for treason, criminal conspiracy and all the rest.

(2,120 posts).. his base just doesn't care. The GOP doesn't care. They'll either shrug it off, whine that this is wasting the President's valuable time, or just blare "TRUMP DID NOTHING ILLEGAL!"
Hell, if they don't give a shit about all of the illegal stuff he IS and HAS done, they won't bring themselves to give a molecule of a shit over this.
