Trump Lawyers Seek Deal With Mueller to Speed End of Russia Probe

Lawyers representing President Donald Trump are seeking a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller to end his investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and obstruction of justice for the firing of ex-FBI director James Comey.

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Trump’s lawyers may negotiate a meeting between the president and the special counsel “as leverage to spur a conclusion to the Russia investigation.”

According to a source close to the investigation who spoke with the Journal, the president’s legal team is considering potentially using a sit-down meeting with Mueller in exchange for a number of factors, “including that the special counsel commit to a date for concluding at least the Trump-related portion of the investigation.” One deadline they floated was 60 days after said meeting, the source told the Journal.

Beyond weighing strategies to hurry the conclusion of the investigation, Trump’s lawyers are also reportedly considering ways to strike an agreement with the special counsel “on the scope of his questioning of the president,” other sources familiar with the matter told the Journal. The president’s legal team expect those questions “to focus largely on his decision to fire former national security adviser Mike Flynn and former FBI director James Comey,” the report continued.

As long as he takes the whole gang and signs a reversal to everything he's done via one big Executive Order, we'll let him stay out of prison.

When a deal goes south, boom! he just moves on to the next thing. Now, Trump is captive to someone else's timeline, and he doesn't like it. How long with this investigation go on? As long as it takes. There isn't anything to "negotiate" in an investigation. If Mueller wakes up tomorrow to see Bobby Ewing coming out of the shower, then it was all a dream, and this goes away. But in the real world, the investigation goes on as long as it needs to, and the people being investigated don't get to set deadlines.

What manner of horseshit be this, anyway? "Say-y-y Bobby; think you could wrap this up in 60 days? We're getting tired of dodging questions."

Want to keep Mueller away from the Trump Tower meeting and the cover-up, and they are desperate to keep Mueller away from Trump’s crooked business.

14. Mueller should offer Trump the same deal Hillary and Bill Clinton received. When I'm done.

Ken Starr's investigations into the Clintons began almost from the time they entered the White House with a bullshit investigation of a land deal, and continued through the eight years they were in the White House. The same tactic was then used on Hillary while she was the Secretary of State. Investigate, Investigate, Investigate. Now the Dotard wants the Special Counsel to accept a 60 day deadline with all the bullshit this family of Grifters has involved themselves in. F*ck them. Mueller will follow the Repuglican way. He will be done, when he is done.
