Crosses memorializing the people killed in a recent Florida high school shooting were seen on Sunday hanging from a billboard advertising a local gun show in Kentucky, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.
The white crosses included the names and ages of the 17 people who were killed last month when a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., according to the news outlet.
The billboard, located in Louisville, includes a picture of a man holding two guns. The billboard promotes the "National Gun Day Gun Show," which took place at the Kentucky Exposition Center at the end of February.

(10,053 posts)While the new changes in gun laws here in Fl are an improvement - not closing the loopholes at gun shows is still a HUGE problem. Maybe the gun show venues themselves should be boycotted (for other events like music concerts and auto shows etc) so it just isn't profitable enough for the venue to hold that kind of event anymore.

It has pics of 'famous gun people,' I guess. What are they, gunners who have killed somebody? Gun twirlers?
Shit, man. I dunno.

(4,874 posts)Imagine hordes of young people marching with crosses outside of gun shows. This is a powerful message.
How about putting the gun buyers who go to the gun shows, through what women have to go through when they go to planned parenthood to get legal abortions. Protesters holding up signs & pictures of dead school children while angry protesters are screaming "child killer"at them as folks take photos of them to post on social media. Hard to believe that gun show attendance wouldn't go down if the gun buyers are subjected to the same kind of treatment that many women have to go through.

(90,658 posts)...make up your own flawless memorial.
YOU climb up on that goddam billboard. Don't fall off now. Don't get caught by itchy-fingered cops.
And above all, YOU call up each and every grieving family to ascertain their religious practice. This is America -- they could be anything, including atheist. I worked with a man whose name and every feature announced his Jewish heritage, but he turned out to be Episcopalian from birth. I know Jewish Unitarians and Jewish Buddhists. Leave no stone unturned my friends, ring up those families.
Don't make any mistakes now, or a bunch of people on a public discussion board will chastise you for even trying.
