I did one of those trips into Yellowstone to cross-country ski for the week (few years ago). You go in via WWII vintage snowcats and at least when I was there, they were keeping snowmobiles strictly at bay.

It was heavenly. Just me, my friends and the abundant wildlife.

6. HAVE FUN!!!! i quit going to my cabin because theres no internet...

..i do fine with pumping water, the hand flush toilet, the wood stove and no electricity...but dont mess with my internet. We used to snowshoe into the cabin every year for the week between xmas and new years..took the neighbor kids, cooked all the meals on the wood stove or put a kettle of beans over the fire.. and played board games. But MY how everyones interests have changed. Its like Puff the Magic Cabin!

Amazing cabins, some of which were built during the Depression, others are newer. I was only there for a work meeting last year, but I want to go back in summer for a vacation.
