Loudspeakers blaring anti Conor Lamb message in Greensburg, PA today

For background, Greensburg is the Westmoreland County seat and is in PA-18.

My husband was in Greensburg this morning and he said there was a truck with loudspeakers parked near the county courthouse blasting a message that tomorrow's election was critical and that people had to vote for Saccone to block Nancy Pelosi's radical agenda. He said it was surreal. Neither of us has seen anything approaching the amount of dirty campaign messages as have come from Saccone and the Republicans.

I thought campaigns stop running negative ads and go positive shortly before election day. Saccone has gone full-blown negative and downright dirty until the very end.

Smells like DESPERATION.

Nancy Pelosi is by no means a "radical"...I don't get why she is constantly made out to be one. It wreaks of desperate Fox News-ism. Seriously, it is such a soft foundation to stand on.

as part of the "manufacture fear" and "insult your opponent" tactic that they have successfully deployed for decades. It's part of their objectification process where they rely on their supporters to go no further than the negative "imagery" of the person vs what the person actually believes in and has accomplished.

Even with the "Blue Wave", the democrats wouldn't have enough of a majority to "push through" very much at all. They'll get procedural control of the body, but Trump will be able to veto anything. Quite honestly, the less than insane GOP members could actually team up with the more moderate/conservative democrats and get more done than they would fighting with their own insane right wing.

when one has experienced a near-mortal wound, one needs to immediately apply a tourniquet to it to stop the bleeding, and then go from there.

Taking back the House will be the tourniquet to allow the caucus to re-group and then maybe carry out some real oversight. Certain beneficial legislation would still stall but some of the insane stuff could be stopped in its tracks.

The change in the senate could stop the freak show of substandard appointees.
The change in the House could allow investigations.
And when the various "crisis" legislation has to be written, the democrats would get to write it.
The challenge will be when Mueller's report is written.

Send good bills - ones that will help people, aren't expensive, and have broad support - to the White House, let him veto them, and use his vetoes against him in the 2020 election.

the segment on MSNBC where one of the hosts went to the 18th to interview 4 Trump voters, 3 of the 4 said they were voting for Saccone so he could help implement Trump's agenda. Apparently none of voters understood/knew/realized Rs control all 3 branches of gov't.

Despite the fact that he is a New York City born and bred billionaire, they see his behavior is no different from theirs and that is why they are drawn to him (and it's also why he was continually shunned by the NY blue blood class).

Didn’t Lamb come out AGAINST Pelosi? At least that’s what I think I heard on Vice News, that Connor Lamb was partly running on an anti-Pelosi platform plank.

But then by even focusing on that, it suggests that the consensus is that Democrats would take the House and there is this "fear" of Pelosi being Speaker again.

Ironically, when she became Speaker after the 2006 election, she made the House actually show up for work (previous to that, they had some years with the fewest number of work days in recent history at the time).
