DC residents threaten to boycott distillery over DeVos investment

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 03/12/18 02:19 PM EDT

D.C. residents are threatening to boycott Jos. A. Magnus & Co., a local distillery, over Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’s stake in the business.

DeVos first revealed the holding in Jos. A. Magnus & Co., LLC in a January 2017 financial disclosure form she submitted after President Trump nominated her for the position.

Her investment in the company is worth between $500,001 and $1,000,000, according to the form.

But some D.C. residents are now planning to boycott the Ivy City neighborhood distillery, after the investment resurfaced during criticism of DeVos’s recent “60 Minutes” interview.
