(26,241 posts)I know all types of religions have their whacky aspect, but Scientology (seriously, a religion?) takes the cake. Example: Most religions have an implied 1,000,000,000 contract. Scientology makes you sign one.
Actually, I see very little difference between the people who buy into that Scientology nonsense, and tshe people who buy into trump*'s nonsense.

(38,958 posts)I understand how a remote control works and can figure out how to skip their channel just as I do the other religion and pseudo religious channels. If they want to present a point of view, so be it.

(38,958 posts)As to them being or not being a religion or a cult is not for me to decide. They want to spend their money on a tv broadcast, well its their money or those who choose to donate just as is every bible thumping tv preacher.
I dont get to decide how others spend their cash or what or what isnt a religion to them. If you or others feel the need to launch a boycott of tv services, that is your choice.
They neither pick my pocket or break my leg.

(39,405 posts)if enough people do that, it could be enough of a pain in the ass to not be worth what Scientology pays them--though I'm guessing it's a lot for them to risk the bad press.
