Iowa Senate leader Bill Dix resigns after video of him kissing woman in Des Moines bar is posted

A video posted online Monday appears to show Iowa Senate Majority Leader Bill Dix kissing a female lobbyist in a Des Moines tavern.

The Iowa Starting Line political website posted the 52-second video in which Dix, a Shell Rock Republican, and the woman sit next to each other on barstools, reportedly at the Waveland Tap bar in Des Moines. In the final seconds of the video, the woman leans over and she and Dix kiss.

The Starting Line report does not identify the woman by name, but describes her “as a lobbyist for various municipality groups.”

The incident occurred on March 1, according to Starting Line.
