The wind is picking up and it just started snowing here in central Maine.
Very few power outages - so far.
We're expecting 1-2 feet of snow....

I spent a week camping at one of your state parks 12 years ago. - in February.
Had a great time - and got lots of birds checked off my life list.
Spring comes next week (but I still have a lot of skiing to do )

(13,889 posts)are expecting about a foot and a half from this storm. No wind problem here as yet and the snow is light and powdery. It is town election day in NH and the state has told us that we can't postpone. I'm a selectman in my little town (1 of 3) and the law requires us to be at the polls from start to finish. It's a long day and if we get 50 people, I'll be surprised. Fortunately, my plow guy, who is also a friend, is giving me a ride. We had exactly this type of storm last year on this very day.

(16,199 posts)I was concerned about power outages, but the snow seems less wet and sticky that the last storm.
I just hope I don't lose power for the third time this month.

(36,416 posts)People in the fire ravaged areas are a little edgy and on alert, but so far, so good. It's presently a warm rain, with snows in the sierra at 5,000 feet, but I hear the level will drop as the storms progress.
