CNN's Chris Cuomo Is Moving to Primetime

CNN New Day anchor Chris Cuomo will move from daytime to primetime, taking over the coveted 9:00 p.m. hour on weeknights, The New York Times reported Wednesday. CNN’s consummate newsman John Berman has been slated to replace Cuomo on New Day to accompany co-anchor Alisyn Camerota. The change in lineup could possibly be a reaction to CNN’s third-place primetime ratings placement, behind the more partisan Fox News and MSNBC primetime lineups. The shake-up puts Cuomo directly against Fox News’ Sean Hannity and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, and reduces Anderson Cooper’s current two-hour slot to just one hour. Cuomo had been tested out as a primetime host before, filling in for Cooper on AC360 and having his own special, Cuomo Prime Time, air in January.

Camerota is one of those Fox hogs with Obama derangement syndrome. Getting up early I saw an ex-Fox and Friends birther on at 5:00 am.

CNN is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

10. Camerota is actually excellent on CNN. I like Cuomo less and less.

Rachel's strengths are

- she regularly thanks guests for helping her and us understand a point.

- routinely says I am not a lawyer - did I explain that correctly?

- has a conversation with a person rather than a shouting match.

- doesn't do panels where everyone says a sentence or two but no one says anything.

- doesn't act like smartest person in room (even if she is)

- focuses on getting to the truth, not in providing balance just to provide balance.

Cuomo focuses way too much on balance for the sake of balance, even when one side is nonexistent. He goes to Kellyanne and Mooch way too much. Cuomo has this demeanor where he likes to explain to us why we are wrong - why there is some merit on the other side. How calling people out doesn't help to resolve issues.
