fire him for improper reasons, such as retaliation, intimidation or to obstruct justice.
If Sessions fires McCabe before Sunday, I hope he sues DOJ before the ink is dry on the termination letter.

(37,748 posts)If (if!) McCabe is terminated, my guess is it will simply add even more momentum to the Blue Wave this November.
McCabe's dismissal is not be a thing that can be branded well to the independents and the apathetic voters; and despite the cloud of despair that would (temporarily) hang over Washington as a result, I honestly believe it would be a god-send in the sense that we (Dems) could hammer them (GOP candidates running on Trumps' coat-tails) over and over and over with.

Were better than that. And we can win without hoping for others misfortunes

(37,748 posts)Of course. But my guess is firing will happen this month (in effect, I think it's a done deal), and the consequences of it will bite them deeply and painfully on the backside when the campaigns begin this summer.

Whether he protects McCabe and tries to salvage something or whether he goes full "circle the Trump wagons" mode will be interesting.

(14,249 posts)I hope this is one of the few times he does the right thing.
He would hav nothing to lose. The only reason for him to fire McCabe would be to please Trump. But he should know by now that that wont matter because Trump will still turn on him, humiliate him and eventually fire him. He might as well try to maintain at least some shred of whatever dignity he has left

Trump's response: 'Challenge accepted! Hold my beer..."
One thing I've learned over the past year is Trump's decisions get more and more absurd; as if he's consistently trying to out-stupid his most recent stupid.
