Dem rep on possible McMaster ouster: 'Adults are leaving the building'

Democratic Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) on Friday expressed concern that the "adults are leaving the building" over reports that President Trump's national security adviser H.R. McMaster may soon join the many other senior administration officials let go in recent months.

"I'll tell you what I'm concerned about, it is the fact that the adults are leaving the building," when asked if McMaster's possible departure made him nervous given current international tensions.

Trump has reportedly made the decision to fire McMaster and is currently considering replacements for the influential advisory role. The move came just days after Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

After months of speculation that the president would replace Tillerson with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Trump did just that on Tuesday. He ousted Tillerson and named Pompeo as his successor while naming Gina Haspel to lead the CIA.
