could it be that sessions fired mccabe because he knew if he didn't, he himself would be fired?

and given the history between the orange asshole and sessions, deep down sessions loathes the tRumpster fire.

so by him remaining in his job, he prevents the orange asshole from firing Mueller.

everything is so fucking convoluted now with "the days of our lives" white house anything is possible.

He decided he'd rather please Trump and stay in his job.
The years in prison he will spend after this will all be worth it, I'm sure.

I'll believe a turd like Sessions is going to serve time, when it happens. I doubt it will.

You know, if Trump is impeached and Pence becomes president Trump will probably get a full pardon.

Kind of makes my stomach hurt.

Makes sense. Sessions protects Mueller and gives evidence. In exchange he pleads to one count of lying to Congress.

Rock meet hard place.

I can’t in good faith mourn Sessions firing McCabe. It’s a slight extension on his tenure and by extension Mueller’s.

Crazy days, right?

I mean, it was announced way after business hours on a Friday night. Wouldn't that type of thing go into effect the following Monday (McCabe's pension would kick in either on or after Sunday?)? Maybe Sessions outsmarted trump on this.

if Sessions hadn't sacked McCabe. Whether he did so to protect himself or Mueller is another question - I think Sessions really likes being AG and doesn't want to give up the job because he gets to implement some of his favorite right-wing policies. You'd think Trump would be delighted to have him as AG because they are both racist, sexist xenophobes. But Sessions made the mistake of actually following the law and recusing himself from the Russia investigation, and Trump hasn't forgiven him. Sessions has no particular motive to protect Mueller other than maybe getting even with Trump for being such a dick by making it more difficult for Trump to fire Mueller. It's all Game of Thrones. I'm waiting for someone to turn up dead - it's getting to be about that bad.

But it's important to drag it out. Trump organization is under subpoena. Let's get the records from them ... let's not have the investigation shut down before we have the records.

Remembering what happened on Saturday Night Massacre. Special Counsel fired ... records were in limbo. Mueller will know to send them to FBI where FBI will be terrified to destroy records.

Congress can pick up the investigation if we win the House. Congress can subpoena FBI to testify. This thread of power will keep the evidence alive.
