Their office put out a statement that McCabe was fired for cause.. when all evidence says he was fired for being on the receiving end of Comey's contemporaneous statements about HIS firing..
That wouldn't, by any chance, be the NY office that's famously compromised by it's relationship to Giuliani . . would it?

(12,344 posts)Run by a career civil servant who reports directly to Sessions. He certainly could have told them, or hinted at what outcome he wanted. This investigation did go unusually fast. In normal circumstances, McCabe would have been able to retire before the investigation is done. Or if the person is close to retirement, and he really did something wrong, they just let him retire. Only exception would be criminal wrongdoing, which is not being alleged here.

(10,134 posts)This man took a pay off from Hillary, what did he really do?
He talked to the media which was his job. He loses his pension, gets smeared on Fox and RW media all because he didn't do his job perfectly?
I don't see what the illegality is.
Except that he contradicted Trump with the truth that the rank and file of the FBI still supported Comey. Hence Trump's all out war to make the man suffer.

(52,791 posts)McCabe is one of the men that Comey talked to,, right after Trump had tried to get him to lay off Flynn. His testimony would corroborate Comey's notes about it.
All about the obstruction case..

(12,344 posts)He spoke to the press about an ongoing investigation, which is normally not allowed. But he is allowed to make exceptions in extraordinary circumstances, so he did. There was also some funny business about timing. They sat on the emails from Weiner's computer for three weeks before Comey found out about it, then Comey ordered an immediate investigation. Worst timing for Clinton. Not clear what McCabe had to do with it, or what his intention was.
