Speculation that Trump might fire Mueller, who is currently investigating Russian interference in the 2016 elections and possible ties between the president's campaign and Moscow, intensified late last week after Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe.
Session said he fired McCabe for providing unauthorized information to the press and not being forthcoming during an investigation into the matter. McCabe argues that he had the authority to share the information and that his firing is part of an effort to undermine Muellers investigation.
Trump reportedly tried to fire Muller last year but backed off when the White House counsel warned that he would resign if Muller was fired.

(92,154 posts)Mueller, would there be enough republicans in congress to do something about it?
Based on the firing of Mccabe, and trumps intention to fire others in his administration, along with the comments from his attorney, and trump's latest tweets
I think it is quite probable that trump will do it, and it will be sooner than later
