They melted down: MSNBCs Mika says Trump and his lawyers freaked out after seeing Muellers questionsMSNBCs Mika Brzezinski said President Donald Trump and his legal team panicked over the weekend after special counsel Robert Mueller previewed some of the questions hell ask in a face-to-face interview.
The special counsel reportedly sent the questions to Trump and his lawyers as they negotiate terms and conditions for Muellers interview, and the president called him out by name for the first time on Twitter and his attorney John Dowd called for the Russia probes end.
Just watching this story from the outside, not even knowing Trump, I have a little bit of insight to his patterns, but it appears that the questions freak them out, Brzezinski said. They melted down.
Former White House press secretary Josh Earnest agreed, and he said Trumps attacks on the investigation and his attempts to influence where it goes suggest hes guilty.

(1,702 posts)Not fire Mueller, he will have someone else do it
He will fire Rod Rosentein and anyone else who will not fire Mueller until he gets his stooge in place
OR
He will have his new stooge limit the $ Mueller has for the investigation in order to choke Mueller off
He will refuse to answer questions in person
Mueller will
Reveal a secret indictment of the Moron to stop him from issuing pardons galore
Reveal that NYAG has indictments against the tRUMP KLAN and they will have to testify
Ryan and McConnell will remain silent through all of this.

(10,269 posts)They'll be so destroyed in Nov that they will all be applying for jobs to fold towels at the Capitol Gym. And the ones who aren't quite AS guilty will jump ship and roll the fuck over for mueller (which means they'll start stabbing the fuck out of the the ones that they can claim are more guilty).
If you thought the infights were bad in the WH, just WAIT till the WH goes down and starts to take the GOP Majorities with it. THATS when the Real Knives will come out.
You ain't seen nuthin yet.

(11,885 posts)He's guilty of obstructing now, again. All the other things he can't escape justice. Lie or tell the truth, both paths to guilty. He's going to fire Mueller. He won't testify I think, and then he'll get removed from office, by republiCONS, or if they don't then Democrats will get voted into office to make sure its done after all republiCONS are targeted for removal too. He's desperate, and scared.

This could be big and hurt him in a legal/criminal way. God I hope so, this bastard has to be taken out NOW!

(2,594 posts)This goon left D.C. several months ago, but he returned to Trump Tower as I recall, so he's never really left the employ of the sitting 'resident. If he made those threats from NY, then he would be under NY jurisdiction for any legal consequences; furthermore, if he made the threats at the behest of his boss - and you know he did so - that would involve tRump directly. Regardless, whomever threatened this woman (and the purported others) did so on behalf of the 'resident and Don the Con would have a pretty hard time trying to mansplain his way out of those allegations.

Sooner or later. Trump will be exposed and the truth is a thousand times worse than Nixon or Clinton!
Karma is insidious. This will also blow back on Pence, Mitch, Ryan,Sessions, Nunes. I knew Sessions was a sleaze ball. Did not realize how bad he is.
You can see, Republicans are already pulling away. They are no going down with this corrupt mob.

(82,849 posts)One other thing: If Legal Team Trump was freaking out over possible questions, keep in mind that Mueller already knows the answer to each and every one of them. Answer truthfully, and Trump is fucked. Answer untruthfully or evasively, and Trump is fucked times perjury.

(6,911 posts)The president thinks of himself self as master negotiator. Robert Mueller has outplayed him. Instead of keeping his and secret, Mueller has showed from a few of his cards to strike viewer into him.
There is a famous historical negotiating example from the 1980s when Argentina and Britain were at war over the Faulkland islands in South America.
Britain and Argentina we're facing armed conflict when Argentina declared that the British owned Falkland islands were suddenly the property of Argentina. Instead of sending planes and troops immediately to return the islands, Margaret Thatcher sent a group of battleships on a week long journey to Argentina. She announced they were on the way, that revealed her strategy.
So Argentina had a few days to contemplate whether they wanted the British Navy to annihilate argentine forces on Falklands. Argentina back down and abandoned their invasion attempt.
Robert Mueller is doing the same thing. He has shown Trump that he is overwhelmingly at a disadvantage, and should just resign.

(12,577 posts)He's never faced a prosecutor, at least as far as I know. Even if he has, I doubt he's ever faced a prosecutor as sharp and dedicated as Robert Mueller. And that's doubly true in this case, with the team Mueller has put together, who are all experts in their respective fields.
And whereas what's at stake in a civil lawsuit is money, in a criminal case he's looking at the possibility of real jail time for himself and Jarvanka (who he'll throw under the bus, if he believes their presence threatens him). Better stay away from airplanes, Jarvanka. Oops! Too late.

They keep saying he's going higher up the food chain. OK. Fine. What about the political slush funds? And voting irregularities? Maybe those are further down the food chain and will fall into line when the other structures are flushed out.

(4,006 posts)Mueller's team has already pieced together the whole story (and they have for sure) and have charges awaiting. If the questions handed to Trump's attorney's have unnerved them, it's all part of his plan to do just that. If Trump ever testifies, even if it's unlikely, the goal WAS to plant in his mind, and that of his lawyers, a big glimpse of what the FBI already knows and even provides a glance at what charges they will bring.
It's a time-honored tactic designed to do a number of things. Only one of which is to perhaps as a long-shot: get Trump to resign.
But, the great 'plant' in his mind is that if he does quit the WH, now he's caught between and big rock and a hard place.
Why?
Once he becomes a private citizen, all the charges can and will apply as he will have lost the privileges of the Presidency. And that my friends includes the right to pardon others and even himself. So, this big Gordian Knot can't be unraveled.
Nice power play Mueller!

(51 posts)It's no secret President Bone Spurs has trouble separating his fantasy world from the real one.
I think we can be confident Mueller has backup plan ready to go if Orange Tang is able to fire him. For instance, the New York state attorney general is well versed in prosecuting financial crimes. Comb over could well avoid some of the federal crimes he is guilty of but his position gives him no protection for state crimes. You can be sure NY and Mueller are sharing.
Along those same lines, it is my fervent wish to see Jared do the perp walk. I also pray the football may be temporarily misplaced.
