Facebook is NOT "Mr. Every man, t-shirt wearing tech dude"...

https://www.dailykos.com/story/2018/3/19/1750161/-Facebook-Quietly-Asked-Cambridge-Analytica-to-Destroy-Stolen-Data-of-50-Million-Users

In August 2016, it sent a legal letter to Christopher Wylie, a former Cambridge Analytica employee, asking him to destroy any data he held that had been improperly collected.

Facebook did not publicly disclose this at the time, and appears to have carried out no further enforcement other than requiring those who wrongly held the data to “self-certify” that they had indeed destroyed it.

"In case you were wondering whether or not Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg are scumbags, you can put your mind at ease. They are.

Just imagine, if back in August of 2016, instead of whispering to Brad Parscale’s goon team, “psst, hey, please delete all that stuff,” they had released a public statement about what was basically a massive data breach, how differently the election might have gone.

These Silicon Valley traitors had their thumbs on the scale the whole damn time."

Don't know anything about Sandberg, but Zuckerberg, yeah...100% scumbag.

I feel badly that her new, young husband suddenly died while on vacation but the rest of her "story" does not make me a fan of her. She is the "Lean In" female exec who wrote a book telling women how they can balance work, home kids, etc. Feminists declared her to be a new hero/heroine. I am a feminist and have a few issues with her.

the GOP is filled with. He is a con man, a liar, and a traitor. I hope Mueller investigates all of this and decides if he was complicating the GOP illegal campaign using Facebook as a propaganda tool to help the moron get elected. If he is guilty than I expect stiff fines, penalties and regulations as well as jail time to follow if appropriate. Cam. Anal. has a lot of bad people involved with them (Jared, Corey Lewindowski, Erik Prince, Bannon, Cruz, Assange, Guiliani, The Mercers, etc.)

profiles in which they identify each user's "neurotic" and "paranoid" vulnerabilities. They then tailor your feed to pick at those areas of vulnerability. For example, if you have a great fear of war, they made sure you got, from a friend, a video about how Hillary would lead the country to war.

Completely chilling. And the news is covering it as just a data breach. It's so much more than that.

The kid with the pink hair who was one of the developers described it in the first video.

I have been skeptical of tech and especially Facebook since I do not understand it. After watching the video last night where the CA Wylie guy was asked who he trusts he paused and gave a very thoughtful answer. He said that he can't say he doesn't trust anyone but that he feels that to "go through life with a healthy dose of skepticism about what you are seeing, hearing and talking to is the best way to go through life". Good answer! My mom and dad told me that and I didn't listen well enough and should have since the people who say "trust me" are the last people to trust and I learned that lesson the hard way and too often I am afraid.

By the way, I am a woman, not a guy (BigmanPigman is a line from a Pink Floyd song on their Animals album).

MelissaB said you were awesome and I told her that I pretty much march here in NY anytime you tell me to!

But yes, that kid was very interesting. I feel for him. His life is going to get really complicated really quickly.

March For Our Lives. Do you know the location? UnionSq and Wash sq are too small. They expect 500,000 in DC and there are 744 planned around the world the last time I checked. There were only about 75 planned events when I was first notified by my activist pals.
