Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a rising star in the Democratic ranks often spoken about as a potential presidential challenger in 2020, shopped a book to a number of New York publishers as recently as a month ago, The Daily Beast has learned.

According to a copy of the proposal obtained by The Daily Beast, the senator’s working title for the project was “Speaking Truth: Hard Facts and Hope for America’s Future.”

“Senator Harris has been encouraged by many people over the years to write a second book and is actively considering it,” Lily Adams, communications director for Harris, told The Daily Beast.

A national book tour is a rite of passage for any potential White House aspirant. And Harris has a history of publishing shortly before making a campaign run. In 2009, she wrote her first book Smart on Crime before successfully running for California attorney general.

And have been told it’s an inaccurate thought process. Of course, I know differently.

Harris would be a great voice in the primaries.

so, that is a positive in my book, ahead of even Markey and Warren.

voting for in 2020, before "Money & Media" shoves another "winner" in our face.

Harris is smart, experienced & well prepared.

4. Excellent. I like Kamala a lot. Her first book was

Smart on Crime, A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer.

"Crime and optimism do not always go hand in hand. But optimism and problem solving are part of my DNA."

A liberal, progressive ethic on this subject, like every other, is exactly what it needs. Not the simple-minded "hit-em-hard-enough-with-a-stick-and-they'll-stop" conservative approach.

8. Senator Harris' principle of embracing "commonality"

is a concept that may encourage increased interest in the Democratic Party. I'm looking forward to hearing more from her.
