(15,241 posts)I've never been a retributive type of person but this crop of assholes just brings out the worst in me.
I remember pulling a repuglican neighbor out of a snowbank (I had to attach towropes under both cars while he stood there watching). He knew I was a liberal. Never got a word of thanks. There are actually people like that.

(29,704 posts)Or as a liberal, you do things even though you know they aren't appreciated, but expected.

(27,792 posts)"desserts" refers to "something sweet at the end of a meal"
While, "deserts" refers to "what a person deserves"
However you spell it, it's still a great tweet, imo.
Cuthbert Allgood
(4,916 posts)it was odd that he wouldn't know it was "deserts."
But, yes, it is a great tweet. I love him a lot.

(15,082 posts)Desserts - imPEACHment! I thought he was being snarky. Peaches make a fine dessert!

(27,792 posts)I love sweet, juicy peaches....(Too bad the sweet, juicy ones are hard to find these days)
Years ago, when we lived in San Francisco, we'd go out to the Farmer's Market and buy a half crate of big, sweet, juicy peaches.

(15,082 posts)I grew up in SF and my Dad used to take me to a peach farm on the way up to Sacramento and we would buy tons of them. First ones were eaten standing over the sink when we got home, with the juice dripping down our fingers.
We have a few more months up here in Oregon before the good peaches start to show up. We have fantastic organic farmers and open markets for local produce. I'll have to try the chocolate ice cream idea next time.

(7,396 posts)In my teen years, Carl Reiner was a frequent visitor to a lot of talk shows and a well known comedian/writer/celebrity. Wouldn't surprise me if he had some knowledge of Trump. Trump was just becoming a well known figure about that time.

(23,292 posts)My father had the '2,000 year old man' album.
Reiner: "What's it like being 2,000 years old?"
Mel Brooks: "Uh boy!"
Reiner: "Did you know Cleopatra?"
Brooks: "Know her, I vent vitt her!"
As well as the silly songs "22 Men Fell Down and Hurt Their Knee", etc.
I miss my Dad.
