And he had a line of mistresses that stretched across the channel. But I strongly suspect he treated them with much more respect than trump* shows for his dalliances.

I shall apologize to Charles, if I am lucky enough to run into him, when I'm on the other side of the veil!

Starting when he was quite young, and he behaved well throughout. He even displayed physical courage during the Great Fire. I can't imagine Trump coping with either of those trials.

Charles had many faults, but he was a far better man and head of state than Trump.

And as I said, was a stand up guy with most of his mistresses. My only comparison to trump* concern his rising number of extramarital peccadillos.

Have you ever seen the film 'Restoration', with Robert Downey Jr. and Sam Neill? Love that film.

Downey plays a physician during the Great Plague/Fire. I thought Sam Neill would be far too handsome to play Charles, but he really pulls it off. And the cinematography is astonishing.

Beyond Downey and Neill, the cast includes Meg Ryan, Sir Ian McKellen and David Thewlis.

It is one of those films with an ending that always brings on the eye waterworks, for me.

Queen Boudicca, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria, as examples. Maybe it's because most of them spent far less time philandering and far more time governing.

Just a theory.

Well hell's bells, by that standard, the American people sure deserve to know ALL about 45, that s.o.b.'s been outside the law his entire life. And now he's off the leash and punishing all Americans (some still don't know it) with his insanity.

The double-standard would be laughable if Democrats weren't always coming up on the short end of it. And you're right -- it would be sweet revenge if it could FINALLY be turned around on 45.
