(6,377 posts)He's easily crushable in 2020. I like Nancy, but I don't know how well she would do in a national election and I'd worry about losing in 2020.

(43,174 posts)We all want the Trump/Pence two-fer, but we're not going to get the Trump/Pence two-fer.
Unless evidence comes out that shows Pence is equally as culpable as Trump in the Russia business, Republicans are going to rally around him even if they ultimately abandon Trump.
And if there's a Democratic majority, that's all the more reason that they wouldn't convict Pence along with Trump. We're not going to have a 2/3 Senate Majority even if we have a great election. And Republicans aren't just going to willingly hand over the keys to the White House like that.
So we're stuck with Pence, like it or not. But give us a congressional majority and he's a lame duck with inescapable ties to an impeached President. It might end up so bad for him he might not even run in 2020.

(94,503 posts)First, what are you going to impeach Pence for?
Second, unless you impeach both at the same time, Pence becomes President and appoints a VP that the Republican House will approve.

(3,011 posts)Just because he's not in the news every day, doesn't mean he's innocent. If he is, then you're right. If they know he is going to be indicted, would they make a calculation that there is a potential drop dead date for installing a republican president?
