I deeply miss this man in our lives and realize how well he held/handled our American populace's best interests, thruout those 8 years.. He's well respected in the World.

Have any insight about the tune from a Christian hymn that ended it?

It seemed out of place, especially given the long history of anglicizing native people's.

deeply ingrained in the culture that it is practically a staple of solemn occasions, Maori funerals, welcoming dignitaries, etc. The vast majority of contemporary Maoris who profess a religion identify as Christian.
