Even Fox News is slamming Trump after John Dowd quit 11 days after president called reports of a shakeup falseELIZABETH PREZA

In yet another stunning shakeup, John DowdDonald Trumps lead outside lawyer for special counsel Robert Muellers investigationannounced his resignation from the legal team, a mere 11 days after the president insisted hes VERY happy with his attorneys.
On March 11, Trump tried to push back on a false story in the New York Times that indicated the president was frustrated with his teams legal strategy and considering new options.

The news of Dowds departure came just two days after the president hired Washington lawyer Joseph diGenova, who has pushed a conspiracy that the FBI and Justice Department are trying to frame Trump.
The presidents denial of the Times report, coupled with Trumps new legal hire and Dowds resignation, was not lost on reportersincluding Fox News Bret Baierwho took to Twitter to point out the presidents claim of fake news doesnt hold up.

(17,857 posts)All the lawyers with government experience trying these types of cases are either working for Mueller or sitting on the sidelines.
First plank of his appeal will be incompetent counsel.

(23,946 posts)Shitler and diGenova believe in the "liberal deep state". Dowd did not.
Shitler is surrounding himself with Yes Men. Incompetent Yes Men, but that is clearly what is happening.

I think Comey had it in for the Clinton's going back to Whitewater, but this might be part of it.
Overall what we have is a minority of Americans who's every instinct, belief and behavour is wrong, biased, destructive, etc.
I guess they are about 40% of the population, maybe less, but they are 50% of who VOTES.
Anyone we know who doesnt vote needs to be told THEY are to blame if this continues.

(14,732 posts)DiGenova in terms of professional skill. There's no way Dowd (and I predict Cobb, too) is going to work with a genuine, dyed in the wool conspiracy nut like DiGenova. DiGenova will be the fair-haired boy of the new 'team' since his only attribute is telling Dumpy exactly what Dumpy likes to hear. I think in the long run this move will benefit Trump's rapid downfall since you can expect to see Dumpy make every-increasingly stupid legal moves as Mueller's investigation progresses.

(14,009 posts)Then you have really set a new level. This is what Down has built a career doing.
Dowd knew 1) His client is going down. 2) He will not get paid.

(82,849 posts)February 28, Trump says "Take the guns first, go for due process second." How long did that last? Startling, though, is that Fox actually noticed the contradiction this time around regarding Dowd.
