It continued through his first year which is also Obama's last year for his policies. Trump didn't hurt the economy for his first year in office, and his tax cuts didn't hurt it in the short term, but he most assuredly is harming the markets and the economy right now.

They told him the Dowt hit 30K this morning due to his China tariffs.

It's not just trade though. Interest rates are going up, the deficit is up, potential for war is up, uncertainty is up. All means the market goes down.
