(31,261 posts)You know, all people have to do to see the truth is inflate any ball that gets inflated, football, basketball, or volleyball, measure the pressure then put the ball into a non heated container in rainy, cold weather like existed at the Colts playoff game for two hours, then bring the ball back inside and immediately measure the pressure in the ball. The activity should be eye opening experience, if people are willing to see the data for what it is.

"Though he is a lifelong Democrat and even donated to both of Barack Obamas two presidential campaigns, Kraft has defended Donald Trump and remains close friends with the controversial POTUS. Kraft opened up about their friendship in a New York Daily News interview last year, recalling Trumps kindness in the weeks after his wife passed.
When Myra died, Melania and Donald came up to the funeral in our synagogue, then they came for memorial week to visit with me, Kraft said. Then he called me once a week for the whole year, the most depressing year of my life when I was down and out. He called me every week to see how I was doing, invited me to things, tried to lift my spirits. He was one of five or six people that were like that. I remember that.

(31,261 posts)I have close friends living in New England. Kraft has done a lots for that area, really significant things. I remember watching a Dolphins game being played in New England and John Kerry was sitting in Kraft's box, next to Kraft, the announcer seemed to have known something about the relationship and said that he and Kerry were close friends, I can believe that given what people have told me about Kraft's charitable activities in New England.

(15,265 posts)charitable work. He identifies as a life long Democrat.

It wasn't that long ago when Bill and Hillary were friends with him.

(5,042 posts)"Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media, and have come out beautifully beautifully. Youve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrows election results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow.
Bill"
Again, it all speaks volumes.

(6,916 posts)Kraft is not on our side. Hes on the billionaires side.
Blue_true
(31,261 posts)Maybe his friendships have nothing to do with politics. Ever considered that?

(6,916 posts)I did consider what you suggest, in detail, in this post:
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100210188437
There I point out that I was and am a big Pats fan. But Kraft doesn't care about me and you. Sure, he's chummy with Kerry. But when push comes to shove, Kraft's loyalty is to billionaires. Not us.
RhodeIslandOne
(5,042 posts)They have no politics other than keeping their tax shelters and you do that by gladhanding anyone in power.
sharedvalues
(6,916 posts)That mentality is the KEY problem with America, as billionaires fund propaganda - hate and racism and identity politics - to get votes for their tax cuts.
Kraft is part of that, otherwise he would cut ties with Murdoch.

(7,520 posts)In Florida, Rick Scott had a couple Parkland family members at the signing of the "Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act." Their presence lent credibility to a bill which banned bump stocks, raised the minimum age to purchase guns from 18 to 21, added waiting periods, added some mental health regulations, and strengthened school security. The school security component was deliberately underfunded to provide an incentive for school districts to adopt another program created in the legislation- arming teachers and other school employees. The bill did nothing to limit sales of assault-style weapons or high-capacity magazines and nothing to strengthen background checks or address the gun show loophole.
The families that participated in the Florida photo op settled for less than half a loaf- far less. My concern is that Kraft, and others like him, will offer to help as a means of peeling off more Parkland families from the fight for truly meaningful reform.

(6,916 posts)And like most GOP-allied billionaires he is willing to support identity politics and hate to get votes for tax cuts. Thats why Kraft is partially responsible. His support for gun hatemongering helps the NRA.
sharedvalues
(6,916 posts)Kraft is a billionaire whose interests align with the most corrosive anti-American force in existence today- the right wing propaganda machine of Rupert Murdoch.
Kraft is right with Murdoch. His donations go to the GOP and support the NRA. Kraft is not a friend of average Americans.

(6,965 posts)kraft, murdoch & puny putin ... together.

(6,916 posts)Any person who is tight with Murdoch is not on the side of America or middle-class Americans. Murdoch is the single most corrosive anti-American force of the past 4 decades.

(16,158 posts)Back in 2005 Patriots owner Robert Kraft was in Russia when a funny thing happened: Russian president Vladimir Putin stole his $25,000 Super Bowl XXXIX ring. Actually for the past eight years, Kraft had let everyone believe he gave the ring to Putin as a gift, but the truth came out this week: Putin stole it -- or took it without asking if 'stole' is too strong of a word for you.
"I took out the ring and showed it to [Putin], and he put it on and he goes, 'I can kill someone with this ring,'" Kraft said at an event this week, via the New York Post. "I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out."

(6,916 posts)For autocrats, everything is about power and dominance.
Putin took the ring to show he could. To show that he is more powerful than Kraft. And Kraft had to lie down and take it. Thats the way autocrats like Putin and Trump and the Koches and Mercer and the other GOP donor billionaires (who spend their billions on propaganda to increase their wealth, screwing us) think.
