7. One of the first demonstrations I ever went to was on the Morristown green

Grew up about 20 miles from there. The local draft board is across the block. We shook our fists at it.

21. 10 to 12 thousand marched in Nashville

The local march was organized by Vanderbilt freshman Abby Brafman, who was a 2017 graduate of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School and was friends with some of the victims. Speakers included Mayor Briley and Naomi Tutu, a daughter of Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu.

"I'm all for people having guns within regulations, but we had to be here," she said. "Something has got to be done."

The group was met with nearly zero opposition, bringing out only a couple counterprotesters who regularly show up with religious signs at events around Nashville."
