I despise Bolton not only for his warmongering and racism, but also because he worked for the NRA to spread guns worldwide. But, Truman -- a President I otherwise respect -- is the only person to allow anyone to be nuked in history.

But he learned from the horror of seeing what happened to human beings, that is why he did not allow them to be used on North Korea. Today, the concept that ANY nuclear war is winnable is damned insane, one primary reason is air delivered nukes are so potent that there is bound to be unexpected fallout, like us wanting to take out NK facilities and killing lots of Chinese and Russians. Do you think China and Russia will sit back and say "you killed lots of our people, but we understand why you did it."?

But, I get your point. I'm not a fan of nuking Japan, nor the rationalization for doing so. The fact that we bully and invade little countries that don't have nukes is the reason countries want them.
