Trump Orders Expulsion of 60 Russians Over Poison Attack in Britain
WASHINGTON President Trump ordered the expulsion of 60 Russians from the United States on Monday, including 12 people identified as Russian intelligence officers who have been stationed at the United Nations in New York, in response to Russias alleged poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain.
The expulsion order, announced by administration officials, also closes the Russian consulate in Seattle. The Russians and their families have seven days to leave the United States, according to officials.
The expulsions are the toughest action taken against the Kremlin by President Trump, who has been criticized for not being firm enough with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.
In a call with reporters, senior White House officials said that the move was to root out Russians actively engaging in intelligence operations against the country, and to show that the United States would stand with NATO allies. The officials said that the closure of the consulate in Seattle was ordered because of its proximity to a U.S. naval base.

BREAKING: Trump has given dozens of Russian intelligence agents/diplomats seven days to leave the United States. He has also ordered the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle. This is response to Russia's chemical attack in the U.K. March 4.
Russia has an unacceptably high number of intelligence officers in U.S., admin officials say. Total number of Russians being expelled is 60 48 members of Russian embassy and 12 at Russian mission to the UN. ALL ARE SPIES cloaked as diplomats, aides says.
At least 40 Russian spies will remain here, aides say. U.S. reserves right to take more action in future, admin officials told press on conference call. The U.S. is NOT pulling any of its diplomats from Russia.
This is Trumps decision, after speaking with advisers for the last few days, aides say. Trump hasnt spoken directly with Putin since Tuesday last week.

Trump administration expels 60 Russian officers, shuts Seattle consulate in response to attack on former spy in Britain
By Philip Rucker and Ellen Nakashima March 26 at 9:00 AM Email the author
The Trump administration on Monday ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian intelligence and diplomatic officers in New York and Washington and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle in retaliation of the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain.
Twelve Russian diplomats at the United Nations in New York and 48 at the Russian embassy in Washington face expulsion by the U.S. government for what senior administration officials described as covert intelligence operations that undermine U.S. national security.
The U.S. government also is closing the Russian consulate in Seattle, which senior administration officials said they believe has served as a key outpost in Russias intelligence operations.
The moves announced Monday are the Trump administrations toughest response yet to the March 4 nerve-agent attack in Salisbury by Russia that critically injured a former spy, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter, Yulia.
