Don't expect most of those people to ever find their way out. From what I've seen from brief peeks from a safe distance, they're not happy in their lost world, but not about to go seek the light.

While we're on this unfortunate topic, it'd be worth noting Schultz's profound dishonesty and lack of honor and trustworthiness. These are key traits in most people who go this way.

It wasn't just RT television, as a number of well known liberals had shows on RT for awhile. It turns out the Schultz never really stood for anything, just a big, loud mouthpiece. It is too bad, as he was a great voice for unions at one time.

What the heck is Ed Schultz doing at CPAC?

"Full disclosure: the Russians did not tell Hillary Clinton don't go to Wisconsin," Schultz said.

He applauded Donald Trump, saying the president isn't "bought and paid by anybody." Schultz said Trump used "a different vernacular" when communicating with voters and simply "outworked" Clinton on the campaign trail.

I could never quite get behind Ed because it felt to me like he was trying to be the Rush Limbaugh of the left, with his loud, anger schtick and just his general style. I never trusted him. This, though, is just blatant. Jeez. I can't believe I hadn't heard this before. So much horrible stuff is going on from day to day that this didn't even register as a blip on my radar, which is nuts.

I remember thinking of Ed as "the Rush Limbaugh of the left" back when he was on MSNBC. Too much anger and yelling. I could only take him in small doses, but I did like his support of labor and unions.

I can understand missing a lot of things this past year, we've been bombarded with crazy on a daily basis. I feel like I am in a constant state of shock. Sometimes, it feels like it will never end.

His Wikipedia page doesn't note anything about him veering back right after his leftward swing.

Funny to see this post as I was just pondering him the other day, wondering what happened.

There seems to be no clear answers (aside from his presence on RT).

Don't see anything here really illuminating...where did he go? Rumored to run for a Senate seat, then it seemed that the idea got scrapped instantly..then the RT career. WTF with RT.. Larry King, Jesse Ventura, Thom Hartmann, and the Conservative Sports Caster that went "lefty"...oh...and the short stint at MSNBC too.. soooooo....he ends up as a minor figure coming out of the Air America time; a plant from the beginning, or, turned with the usual methods?

I listened to Ed e-ve-ree-day for years.

He was my favorite host in msnbc.

I loved his style of delivery.

I felt that he was the best, post Olberman that gave O'Reilly a run for his money.

I want to believe Ed has just temporarily lost his way.

Yes, I'm aware he used to be a rightwing host before, but no way a rightwinger could "fool" people that long and with such arguments.

If he's gone back to Republican, it's probably due to him genuinely losing his way.

But Schultz may have been warming to Trump even in his more liberal MSNBC days. In the spring of 2015, Schultz praised his business acumen. Trump reacted the way much of the political world responded to the news that Schultz was going to CPAC.

Opinion: Fake Liberal Ed Schultz Pimps For Trump at CPAC

<...>

Schultz has performed a one-hundred-eighty degree turn on Donald Trump as well. After calling Trump a racist and ridiculing his political ambitions a few short years ago, this week he praised Trump’s skills during CPAC and “downplayed” Russian Vladimir Putin’s role in interfering with an American election to install a friend of Russia in the White House. Schultz’s embrace of Trump is obviously a requirement to land a gig with Russia’s state-sponsored American television network, Russia Today.

During his appearance at CPAC, Ed Schultz could not heap enough praise on Trump despite harshly criticizing him when Schultz pretended to be a liberal on MSNBC. On Thursday while talking with reporters on “CPAC’s radio row,” Schultz said this about his boss Putin’s puppet in the White House:

“I think he’s pragmatic, and I think he wants to win for the little guy. [Trump] will go with the people.” And, Schultz said Trump will slow the Republican Congress’ efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Then Schultz went full-on Trump and railed against the Democrats’ efforts to oppose the hateful Trump and Republicans’ agenda saying:

“They [Dems] ought to be focused on saving healthcare. They ought to be focused on making sure we don’t privatize Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. That’s where the Democrats ought to be. Instead, they’re chasing down scandals or they’re making them up. I’m just—I’m a little disappointed in them right now.”

I do like Mark Thompson (although I wished they hadn't moved his slot because he is now on at the same time as Joe Madison, who is on SiriusXM Urban View). Also listened to Hartmann, TYT, Stephanie Miller, and Bill Press (when he was on).

When Air America stations had to replace AL Franken, Thom Hartmann got the covered 12-3 (Eastern) time slot in most markets. Schultz was furious. He spent months screaming about how he deserved the chance to out-shout Rush Limbaugh.

His brief gig at MSNBC received underwhelming ratings. Eddy retreated to radio, and gravitated toward his anger instead of conviction. Full of himself, the man seldom did his homework and often spewed fake facts. His research team was abysmal. It was the perfect recipe for a right-wing hack.

Sorry Eddy. You lost me ten years ago.
