The Republicans' Secret Wish

Trump supporters would like nothing more than for him to fire Robert Mueller. They do not hesitate to tell their Reps and Senators when they come home.

Republican leadership has said over and over that there is no need to protect the Special Counsel because Trump has no plan on firing Bob Mueller. They never say what they would do if Mueller was to be fired?

But, if it were to happen, the odds are that the Republican leaders would do nothing. In their hearts, they hope that Mueller is fired. They can then join their base in unity for the next election. Democrats will be left to scream to their heart's content.

However, if Republicans were to take that route and join Trump in the dismissal of Mueller, the November election would loom ever more important.

Democrats, if they take back the House in November, would have no choice but to impeach. The Republican cover up of perhaps the most important investigation in our history would leave them no choice.

And maybe that is exactly what the Republicans want?

1. They need control of BOTH houses

To remove Ryan AND McConnell from their positions and having majority power, or this will continue, so we need to elect Democrats overwhelmingly to beat them. Plus having control of the Senate we can block really bad Supreme Court nominee's, or payback for what McConnell did to us under President Obama.

2. My guess is that the closer to November that Mueller is fired, the greater the turn-out for

democrats. The outrage will make last Saturday look like a shadow.
