NASS.org -National Association of Secretaries of State on $380 million for HAVA funds in budget bill

http://nass.org/node/1367
For Immediate Release – March 23, 2018 –

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The members of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) are extremely pleased that the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018, just signed by the President, includes $380 million of Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds. This funding will help states further prepare for the 2018 election by increasing cybersecurity, replacing aging voting equipment, educating voters and much more.

We look forward to learning more from U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) on the timing and process for distributing these payments.

Election officials across the country are working every day to secure our elections and NASS members are pleased Congress and the President have committed to aiding us by providing these much needed resources. We again thank Senators, House Members and their staff for their determined efforts to include this crucial money in the Omnibus.
