David Hogg, Emma Gonzalez and all the other young folks must remember that the NRA and

RWs told the parents of those dead little children at Sandy Hook that they made up the story of their deaths.

These people are fucking evil. Ignore them and resist.

March For Our Lives TOWN HALLS April 7th.
The students and communities who support stricter gun legislation are encouraging citizens to call and arrange town halls in your district on April 7th (before they head back to DC). They organized a site with help from Town Hall Project (Town Hall For Our Lives).
These young people are getting people registered to vote and are going through the legislative process for change and on April 7, they’re calling for every member of Congress to hold a town hall.

“If your local legislator refuses to come for whatever reason, simply invite their opponent,” Hogg told us. “It's as simple as that.”

https://townhallproject.com/#about
Town Hall Project empowers constituents across the country to have face-to-face conversations with their elected representatives. We are campaign veterans and first time volunteers. We come from a diversity of backgrounds and live across the country. We share progressive values and believe strongly in civic engagement. We research every district and state for public events with members of Congress. Then we share our findings to promote participation in the democratic process.

This movement is diverse, open source, and powered by citizens. We are proud to be a part of it.

They planned it on the Sat before Congress returns to DC and that way more people can attend (no school or work the next day...they are smart!).

And they are on the course to winning:

First they ignore you.
Then they laugh at you.
Then they fight you.
Then you win.

Emma Gonzalez is who I want to be when I grow up. She and the rest of them are tougher than most of us, and certainly tougher than the cowards who can’t feel safe without a gun and are so clearly terrified of a child’s words.

I'm with all of the children who have been lost because of a deranged individual.

Gun control and reduction in gun violence will take time. Community rethink.

But, think about the relief local police officers when there is a reduction in gun banishing.

I'm for the Officers, within reason/exceptions. Why 20 rounds? Snipers do one round.

I love it that Right Wingers are afraid of these kids. I think these Kids might make them obsolete one day. I am reminded of Student and Youth Activism in the Sixties.

People do not acknowledge it, but that really was a Cultural Revolution that we benefit from today. Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Gay Rights, Disability Rights, etc. We have those things today in large part due to the Movement Activism of the Sixties.

I think that this New Generation will do something similar, and change the World.

But can't you see the irony that all of these were movements to gain rights, while the gun-control crusade aims to restrict rights? Yes, it's all in the name of safety, and people have a right to feel secure, etc., but it's a diminution of rights just the same. The question is how much restriction brings how much safety. I think people will be unpleasantly surprised by the answer.
