Trump Calls Roseanne Barr to Fawn Over Her 'Huge' TV Ratings

President Trump on Wednesday phoned up actress Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on the “huge” ratings the premiere of her Roseanne reboot received. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the phone call, which came less than 24 hours after the premiere of Barr’s new show pulled in an estimated 18.2 million viewers. The sitcom about a working-class family returned to ABC after more than two decades off the air, with Barr’s character, Roseanne Conner, playing a Trump supporter. Barr has been outspoken about her support for Trump in real life, and she said she wanted the show to highlight the current “political differences” after Trump’s election to provide an “accurate portrayal” of everyday Americans.

Lots of progressive issues involved and only two lines about Trump in the first two episodes.
