Brad's the guy who supposedly oversaw Trump campaign's liaison/work with Cambridge Analytica and Facebook.

(19,558 posts)Amazon is a vital supply of goods not available to a lot of Trumps base any other way. They've grown used to having their things delivered to their door - FREE two day Prime - and I don't see them being willing to give that up.
I could see some of them switching to Walmart home delivery. Which the company has been trying to grow into an Amazon like model, but they don't offer the diversity of goods Amazon does yet.

Yes, Amazon has tons of shopping and searching data on tens of millions (more?) users worldwide. So what? Is it 10 times the data FB has? Who the fuck knows. These guys don't, but the scare words are out there. So what can Amazon do with all that data on me? Ok, so they can recommend products I might be interested in or they might market other Amazon services to me - fire stick, alexa, kindle, etc. Again, so what? I can choose to buy, or not. I'm not being micro targeted for political purposes, unless there are secret messages in the foreign language TV I find myself streamin on Amazon. Amazon is not using my shopping data to feed me lies or change my votes on anything, unlike Parscale, FB, CA, and others. At worst, I'll buy a book I really didn't want to read, or a blender that is more expensive than the one I was going to buy.
As for Bezos's ownership of the Washington Post, again, so what? If the WP were using Amazon data for some nefarious purposes, we'd know that by now, since Bezos has owned the WP since 2013. And the WP is not Fox and it's not Inforwars and it's not Facebook. It's a mainstream newspaper and media service. Maybe the WP's eatvoraciously account on Instagram will change my cooking and eating habits. Oh, horrors.
Saying random "scare" words like Bezos, Amazon, WP, Soros, liberals, data, and 10x the data is typical of the right, and what's frightening is that it works in that universe, even when the message is pointless.
