Following the massive ratings for the premiere of the Roseanne revival on ABC, the network has renewed the series for next season, which will be the classic sitcoms 11th overall. Sources say the order is for 13 episodes, up from 9 in the current first installment of the revival.
Were thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes, said Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We cant wait to see what the Roseanne team has in store for next year.

(51,584 posts)They brought back Will & Grace and are bringing back Murphy Brown (both more liberal leaning than Roseanne).

(15,031 posts)What I heard were excuses, rationales without substance, and a whole lot of whining. And that's one of the few things I agree with Trump about: I'm sick of all the whining.
More disappointing, the criticisms of Trump from the sister and the other cast members were incredibly weak, which from a comedic standpoint left little opportunity for an effective foil. There was no repartee, no challenging dialog.
I turned it off about 40 minutes into the hour. I'll not be back.

(25,241 posts)One show - great ratings - and renewed for a second season? A lot of viewers were watching just out of curiosity. The show was promoted by ABC for months. Barr and Goodman did many appearances on talk shows to promote it. But two things are - in my mind problematic. One - Barr is shooting off her mouth and tweeting Nazi tweets. And Two - Trump is taking credit for her ratings.
I think I would at least wait til episode three this season to see if the numbers hold up. I'm thinking there will be a sharp dropoff of viewers by then.

(3,115 posts)Regardless of the content, she's a Trumpanzee and doesn't need her pockets lined by the American public. We're already doing that with Dumpster.

(3,608 posts)see you should cater to deplorables and don't alienate them, Hollywood. Um no if this wasn't a reboot, nobody would of cared. This is so stupid..let's stop pretending that folks of all stripes go to see and tune in to 'Hollywood" whatever. You gonna tell me deplorables don't like Xmen and that crap...JUST STOP. This guy really pissed me off this morning.

(21,714 posts)I watched it because I enjoyed the original show. The revival sucked, and I won't be watching it again. I agree, the ratings for the first show were out of curiosity, and the ratings will fall. Hope they are thrilled with the ratings for the first show, I doubt they will ever see them again.

So if they saw people staying for the whole hour, and they have the tracking for that, that's what they based it off of. Not just those that click and leave.
