CNN host takes on MSNBCs Morning Joe

Watching New Day show on CNN approx 6:30 am Eastern today.
They were talking about Hannity ties to the White House and the criticism of Hannity.
Then, host Chris Cuomo says why is nobody talking about MSNBC’s show Morning Joes relationship with Trump.
He said that show is our direct competitor in this time slot and he believes that the way that Joe and Mika pumped up Trump during the campaign season giving Trump daily access to their show hurt CNN’s ratings because Trump was always on MSNBC and not CNN.
Cuomo further said why has there been no examination of Joe and Mika’s ties to Trump during the campaign, and or how they turned against Trump after he became President.

Little bit of a wow moment for Cuomo to call out a direct competitor on live tv like that.
Hopefully, somebody here can find the clip from this morning on CNN and post it.
Joe and Mika not on their show this morning, so no response from them on MSNBC as yet.

is because of the 180 degree turn and the fact they have good guests. But, certainly they've not been held to account for their overt pumping up of Trump during the election.

and, they didn't really "turn" on Trump until he had that occasion where he announced a big press conference and then showed up to only promote the new Trump DC Hotel. By that time, it was only a few months before the election and too late to do much good.

Joe and Mika enabled trump: softball interviews, excessive airtime, lavish praise. I lost a lot of respect of MSNBC for the Morning Joe fiasco during the trump campaign. CNN also did same. trump gave them higher ratings and profit. If they had actually acted like journalists, trump would not have come on their show and the cash cow would have been gone.
Now Joe and Mika are against trump. Again, good for ratings. They try to rewrite their past enabling of him. To understand Morning Joe, just follow the money. They are trashy pundits and should never be considered professional journalists.

But, I would add that it became personal between them and Trump.
He got upset with them and tweeted that he knew a lot about their relationship hinting that it had become romantic before Joe and Mika had wanted to go public with that fact.
Trump then escalated what became an on air feud by calling Mika names and making up a story about a fictional facelift that Trump claimed she had.

EVERYONE say Trump calling in regularly during the campaign to multiple shows, some more favored than others.

Almost no other candidate during the primes or GE did the same.

They ALL ceded that space to Trump. Would any show of this nature across the network turn him away?

Yes, they should have held him a lot more accountable and likely many will going forward the next time it happens. Trump was definitely something that was building for awhile but even as he got the nomination most never thought he'd win. He was treated as a sideshow and it got ratings. That's not something that happens twice. He won't be able to get away with it the next campaign season he's directly involved in during 2020.

But really, look at it, nobody else tried to take advantage of that space like he did. You think Morning Joe or Cuomo would turn away Hillary calling in every other day like he did?

their shows. I watch Morning Joe but agree as I remember their BS of rubbing up to Trump & all of his calls to their show. That was pretty disgusting but CNN & other media were guilty of giving him plenty of exposure as well.

Remember the CBS President who said Donald Trump may not be good for the country but he is really good for CBS. That is the problem with Corporate Media. The money takes First Priority & favorable spin for corporations & the news comes third.

I keep hoping someday we will have more & stronger Independent Media again. The network evening news is pretty good but you need more detail so, for now, one has to really search & find the various sources they trust to get accurate news.
